Leigh Steinberg
For more than two decades, sports attorney Leigh Steinberg has revolutionized the practice of sports management, and pioneered the convergence of the sports and entertainment industries, and has negotiated over two billion dollars in deals for his clients. Steinberg founded his sports law practice in 1975 when he negotiated a then-record $600,000 contract for NFL number-one draft choice Steve Bartkowski. Since that time, Steinberg’s firm has continuously represented the most prolific players in the NFL. Steinberg has always encouraged clients to pursue a philanthropic endeavor. One who always practices what he preaches, Steinberg contributes much of his own time and effort to a variety of humanitarian causes. Steinberg has also developed original television and film content for Fox Television, Warner Brothers Studios, ABC Entertainment and HBO. He has been at the forefront of the Internet revolution by creating and building sports websites, strategically aligning his firm with ESPN’s Sportszone. Steinberg was the real life inspiration of the sports agent from the film Jerry Maguire.
